The analytical laboratory for forest soils, geology, silviculture and forest influences.

History

The Soils Laboratory was an integral part of Technology Laboratory of the College of Forestry in 1962. It was established through the cooperative efforts of the National Economic Council, the University of the Philippines, the State University of New York and the United States Agency for International Development

Functions and Services

Primarily serve as the learning and analytical laboratory for Geology, Forest Soils, Silviculture, and Forest Influences. It houses several analytical equipment, and soil and rock samples for instruction purposes. It is headed by a Faculty Administrator with a University Research Associate as a support staff.

The soils laboratory offers the following services with corresponding fees:

  1. Soil Organic Matter Analysis
  2. Soil Physical Characterization
    • Soil Texture
    • Particle and Bulk Density
    • Moisture Content
